To make donating blood as convenient as
possible for donors, LifeSource collects blood at community donor centers and
mobile supported centers and conducts an average of 10 mobile blood drives
daily throughout the Chicagoland area every day. Donors are requested to enjoy
refreshments and relax for 15 minutes before resuming daily activities. We
want our volunteer blood donors to know how special they are. That's what
Donor Center Volunteers do.
Our Donor Center Volunteers manage the refreshment areas:
assisting donors, serving refreshments, monitoring donor safety, assisting
with donor flow, and most importantly, thanking donors for giving the "gift of
life." This opportunity is extremely important, since these volunteers are the
last opportunity to ensure that our donors have a positive donating
experience. Additionally, these volunteers are available for donor education.
Training is provided.
Customer service orientation. Excellent verbal communication
skills. Professionalism and flexibility are key. This opportunity requires a
minimum of 3 hours, one day a week on a regular basis. If you enjoy a regular
schedule and familiar volunteer site, this opportunity is for you.
Note: Public or personal transportation is required.
