LifeSource, Chicagoland's Blood Center
COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE VOLUNTEERS

Purpose
: To make donating blood as convenient as possible for donors, LifeSource collects blood at blood drives throughout the Chicagoland area every day. Donors are requested to enjoy refreshments and relax for 15 minutes before resuming daily activities. We want our volunteer blood donors to know how special they are. That's what Community Blood Drive Volunteers do.

Responsibilities: Community Blood Drive Volunteers manage the refreshment areas: assisting donors, serving refreshments, monitoring donor safety, assisting with donor flow, and most importantly, thanking donors for giving the "gift of life." This opportunity is extremely important, since these volunteers are the last opportunity to ensure that our donors have a positive donating experience. Additionally, these volunteers are available for donor education. Training is provided.

Qualifications: Customer service orientation. Excellent verbal communication skills. Professionalism and flexibility are key. Two days a month is all that is required. If you like to choose where and when you'd like to volunteer each month, this opportunity is for you.

Note: Public or personal transportation is required.
