Apheresis is a unique type of donation. During this 2 1/2-hour donation
process, the apheresis donor donates a specific blood product to a patient in
need. Apheresis donors are desperately needed to support our region's
cancer, leukemia and aplastic anemia patients whose lives depend on regular
transfusions.
Apheresis Educators educate and recruit potential apheresis donors.
Volunteers are needed to visit
donor centers to educate whole blood donors on
the importance of apheresis donations and motivate whole blood donors to
donate platelets. Training is provided.
Excellent verbal communication skills. Friendly, outgoing personality.
Passion for the program. If you like people and appreciate a unique opportunity
this is the one for you. Schedules to be determined. Note:
Public or personal transportation is required.
