ALYX is a new apheresis donation at LifeSource. A special kind of blood donation in which whole blood is withdrawn, red cells are separated and retained, and the remainder of the blood is returned to the donor. ALYX is able to safely remove 2 times the red blood cells that a traditional whole blood donation will provide...enabling your donation to make TWICE the difference and TOUCH MORE LIVES in just one donation.

To qualify for an ALYX donation:

• Males must be at least 5'1" and weigh 130 lbs.

• Females must be at least 5'5" and weigh at least 150 lbs.

The preferred blood types for an ALYX donation are O+, O-, B+ and B-.

An ALYX donation only takes a little longer than a traditional whole blood donation - bout 25 minutes. So, why not double sharing the joy of life with one donation?
