Whole Blood - LifeSource

Whole blood donation is the most common type of blood donation in which the donor provides approximately one pint of whole blood. Whole blood donations can be separated into three components – red blood cells, plasma and platelets. This means that one whole blood donation can save up to three area lives.

To donate whole blood, you must be at least 18 years old (16 or 17 years old with signed parental consent form*) weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good physical health.

*Download the parental consent form in English or in Spanish. (Will open as a .pdf.)
